These fittings DO NOT HAVE CHECK VALVE AS DESCRIBED. I wasted my time and gas driving to the nearest store which is not nearby.
I would have been willing to pay more for the right fitting but told there was none to be had.

The brake bleeder screws (rear brakes, not front) on my '05 Chevy Cavalier rusted and stripped. These are the replacement for the rear. They are 8mm hex head. The guy at Advanced had to match up the old ones to these and when I got home they fit perfect.

These were actually the wrong ones, but was fixed even before I walked out of the store. Did not get a chance to install because my extractor broke off while trying to get the old one out! GRRR!

          what does this do?

The answer posted that says bleeder screws generally incorporate a check ball is WRONG. NORMALLY THEY DO NOT. The type that do are often called "speed bleeders". This part is NOT that type.
Make sure to check whether your vehicle has ABS or not, as the "exact fit for your vehicle" often includes both ABS and NON-ABS results, so can not be trusted.

            A:

This part Dorman - Help Bleeder Screws M8-1.25 x 24mm, Part No. 13902 is a device used to create a temporary opening in an otherwise closed system, which facilitates the removal of air or another substance from the system by way of pressure and density differences. Bleed screws are at each wheel of the vehicle to allow bleeding of the braking system. Bleeding air from the brake lines is necessary for correct operation of the hydraulic system (air compresses, reducing maximum pressures) and preventing loss of braking ability. Bleeder screws generally incorporate little spring loaded ball type check valves. When you open them a half turn, they allow fluid to be pumped out but no air can come back in.

These are just the brake bleeders and do not come with the metal washers.
