This Design Engineering HEATER HOTTER - part# 040206 is formulated specifically to accelerate the transfer of heat from the engine to the cooling system in frigid climates that otherwise increase engine wear. DEI Heater Hotter's unique formula allows your vehicle's heater to warm up 50 percent faster, even in sub-zero temperatures. It is safe to mix with all types of antifreeze. One of the simplest ways to unclog a heater core is to flush it. Wait until the heater hoses are cool and then disconnect them from the firewall by loosening their clamps; watch out for coolant that may leak out. Insert a garden hose into one of the openings, turn it on and look for the water to come out the openings. A garden hose can deliver a lot of water pressure, especially the instant it's turned on after being off for a long time. Too much water pressure can rupture the heater core. Turn the hose on before you connect it and turn it off once a steady stream is flowing. Once you connect it, turn it on slowly and gradually increase its pressure just enough to get a steady flow form out the other opening. Once the stream of water is clear, reconnect the heater hoses and test the heater again. If the heater core remains clogged, it likely needs to be replaced.
