I purchased these plugs to replace Denso Multi-ground Regular Class plugs. I had 85,000 miles on the plugs but started to fail. Denso says they should only last 30,000 milles. I upgraded to Platinum TT Plug and I can feel the different with the new plugs and think they will give me better performance.
I spoke to Denso because I feared changing from the Regular Class to any other plugs due to all the story I read on spark failure on Toyota 4runner. Denso says the Platinum TT Plug should last 60,000 miles.
I would say go ahead and change out to the platium TT plugs. I'm gald I did

Comments about Denso PK16TT Platinum TT Spark Plug:

A great option vs. OE copper plugs. Instead of 30,000 mile changes with copper...these can go 90,000 due to the harder tips. Sure you will drop .1 MPG but it's worth not having to replace 3x more often and in the end cost less.

Comments about Denso PK16TT Platinum TT Spark Plug:

After just 35k, the Dodge 4.7L was running pretty rough and gas mileage was starting to drop off. I did a little research and found a few fellow drivers commenting that they liked these plugs. You can add me to that list. The engine is idling better than new. Instead of sounding like I put a high duration cam in it, it's purring like a kitten. So much so that the wife even noticed it, and she usually wouldn't even notice a cylinder misfiring! Fuel mileage is a little better too. It's only been a couple of week, but so far these plugs are a definite winner.

My 03 matrix has about 125,000 miles on it. Some of those miles with the sportscar club on a autoX track.
The pocketlogger agrees with what I thought I felt; better response time, slightly faster rev. As a bonus, they last much longer than the OEM did. (Plugs may last 100K mi for drivers that are not as fussy about their engines.)

I used these plugs on my 1999 Corolla with 170k miles. I immediately noticed improvement in the acceleration and much quieter idling of the engine. Don't pay hundreds at the garage and see if you can do it yourself for 1/5th the cost. Just ask your AAP sales associate for some help. You'll be surprised how eager they are usually to assist.

Comments about Denso PK16TT Platinum TT Spark Plug:

I was a little sceptical when I took the first plug out of the box. The plug that came out of my 2001 4runner was the double ground type of plug. I wasn't sure if this plug would be proper to use. I called my local Toyota Dealer and made an inquiry. Once he heard the name Denso he said he would not hesitate to use these parts in his own Toyota vehicle. He told me to make sure the plugs were the same thread legnth going into the head and you will have no problem

These plugs work great. Performance was restored and I am certain my gas mileage has improved.

That's a great question, Joey! The heat range of a spark plug is its ability to dissipate heat from the combustion chamber to the cylinder head. The heat range of a spark plug depends primarily on the length of the insulator nose. The heat from the combustion is transferred from the insulator nose through the center electrode to the plug housing, and from there it goes to the cylinder head.
