Comments about Denso Oxygen Sensor - Universal:

Although there were instructions to install on most car manufacturers, there were no wiring conversions for Subaru. This made the install very difficult.

I have 2003 PT Crusier , where is this sensor located, and is this an important part of the engine. And can I install this sensor

        A:

The oxygen sensor is part of the emissions control system and feeds data to the engine management computer. The goal of the sensor is to help the engine run as efficiently as possible and also to produce as few emissions as possible. There are two oxygen sensors on your 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Crawl under and look your exhaust. Follow the exhaust up towards the motor and you will find the O2 sensors bolted right in the exhaust pipe itself. There will be a sensor towards the back, behind the catylitic convertor, then one in front of it. Just back them out with a wrench and unplug them and replace. For any further assistance, please visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.

Hi Staff, Will this sensor function in a standard transmission, 2000, outback-Subaru 2.5 L ? The other Denso choice is more expensive -direct fit? I intend to replace both sensors if the $51.19 version will function.
      Thanks

    • Q:

Am I accepting extra labor to install by re-terminating the electrical connector and buying a lesser quality sensor? The other Denso choice is $94.99.
