Comments about Denso Oxygen Sensor - Direct Fit:

Even though this looks nothing like the part that came OUT of the Jeep, this worked perfectly.

But I was skeptical, so, to be sure when I picked it up, I bought another one (234-4744) that LOOKED like the old one. It didn't work, and I returned it, no issue.

I have driven the Jeep now for about 1000+ miles and no engine light! I wanted to wait until then before I reviewed it...

Comments about Denso Oxygen Sensor - Direct Fit:

I purchased this Denso O2 sensor for my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7. The error code was P0051... 2/1... that's Bank 2 (Passenger side) / 1st Sensor (Before the cat). I've had this code intermitently for the last 2+ years but would go off in a few days. This time it stayed on for a week and was time to change it.

The first Advance store had the sensor but the package was opened. I purchased it anyway but when I went to install the sensor I noticed the red locking tab on the connector was missing. Returned it and went to another Advance store to purchase. This sensor was sealed in the box but still no locking red tab. Purchased and installed anyway as I had to work the next day. Good news is the error code is gone and the Jeep runs smooth as silk! There's no bad news!

This sensor is an easy install as it's right in front on the up-pipe and no jack to lift the Jeep needed.

I think the missing red locking tab is a non-issue as the connector snapped in very positively and I doubt very much that it will come apart on it's own.

This Denso O2 sensor in "Made in the USA" and replaced the factory Denso sensor. Thus it can only be good and I hope it will last for another 150,000 miles.

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

With respect to your inquiry on the Denso Oxygen Sensor Direct Fit - Part No. 234-4653 a code P0171 or P0174 indicate the engine is running lean. This means there is too much air and/or not enough fuel. A lean fuel condition can be caused by the following factors: Low fuel pressure due to a weak pump or leaky fuel pressure regulator, dirty fuel injectors, vacuum leaks at the intake manifold, vacuum hose connections or throttle body, leaky EGR valve, leaky PCV Valve or hose and defective Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF). I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
