Comments about Denso Oxygen Sensor - Direct Fit:

So the CEL on my 2002 Honda Accord 2.3 came on. I scanned it, and it came up with two codes for the upstream Air fuel ratio sensor. I went on line, and this sensor was supposed to be a direct fit. I ordered it for in store pickup. It looked exactly the same, except the harness wire was slightly shorter. This proved to be no good, once I installed it, it became clear that the wire was too short to make a connection to the wiring harness.

                    A:

Yes, Omar, you will need to rest the codes with a scanner or disconnect the battery for about half an hour and that will clear the codes.

                • Q:

My existing Honda 2002 Accord SE original Front/pre-cat/upstream O2 sensor is 12 3/4 inches from harness end to sensor abuttment. Why is it that ALL of the O2 sensors on the market are short by an inch ? None that I have seen thus far allow me to keep the connector slipped on the metal clip that is bolted to the engine block . Instead, it will be taut with no slack in it , pulling on the wiring to the ECM .

                    A:

Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Most of the aftermarket O2 sensors are shortened so that it is applicable on various other applications as well. Please check this Denso Oxygen Sensor Universal Part No. 234-4209 which is slightly lengthier than the Part No. 234-4620. For further assistance please feel free to call 1-877-238-2623 and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
