          A:

Hi Justin, glad to help you! The code p1135 is for a faulty air fuel sensor on your 2002 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 l. However, I would suggest that you to take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.

      • Q:

I purchased this sensor after getting the sensor1, bank 1 error code. This is the pre-cat sensor. However, part 234-4189 has a much longer cable, and a firewall grommet identical to the post-cat sensor currently on my vehicle. Can I use this sensor pre-cat?

      • Q:

what does downstream mean? Is #1 bank sensor different than
        #2 bank sensor?
Asked on 4/14/2012 by Anonymous from uniontown, Pa.

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

It refers to the location of the oxygen (o2) sensors relative to the engine. The upstream sensor is located before the catalytic converter and the downstream is located after the catalytic converter. Generally in V6 or V8 engines, cylinders 1,3,5,7 are on the firewall side and cylinders 2,4,6,8 are on the radiator side. The bank close to the firewall(cylinder #1) is bank1. So the sensors located in that bank are called bank 1 sensor 1 and bank1 sensor2. The bank close to the radiator is called bank 2.

      • Q:
