Q:Have a 1997 F150 had the people @ Advance do diagnostics an they said the ERG valve was going bad...my question is do i need to replace all of the ERG components in order to fix my problem ? Having a power problem going uphill truck acts as if it is missing and runs rough until you are able to top the hill and then it seems to smooth back out..Also does this when I go to pass another vehicle..
A:Your EGR valve position sensor should be the problem and it has to be replaced.
Q:What does the EGR DO?
A:The EGR valve helps your car more efficiently and completely burn fuel by recirculating a portion of your exhaust and running it through the combustion process again. This results in a cooler, more complete burn of the fuel which decreases you car's noxious emissions by prohibiting the formation of some harmful gases.
Q:Where under the hood is the EGR Position snesor located on a 2002 Ford Explorer spoer with a 4.0L V6 engine?
