WOW! What can i say? I used my micrometer on this Crank that said and came with .10 berrings and was in tolorance but it was so far out of round and the snout was bent about .20, Returned it and got another and was exactly the same! I will have my cranks machined myself from now on! Bewars of these Crank kits! stay away!

It was in spec and true. I think .030 rods is too much, but for the price I can't really complain. I haven't run it yet, but it measures out OK.

Comments about Crankshaft Rebuilders Remanufactured Crankshaft Kit:

I needed a crankshaft for a Chevy small block while I was out of town. 500 miles away from my regular machine shop. Decided to try AAP as they usually get me what ever I need. The store down the road from where i was had one in stock. Upon opening the box I found the crank was very high quality. The mains and rod were cut 20/20. The fit was perfect with no problems. I also happened to buy the crankshaft on the same weekend that Advance Auto Parts was offering a coupon for online purchases so that was just an added bonus.

Comments about Crankshaft Rebuilders Remanufactured Crankshaft Kit:

Within the last 8 months I have bought and used 4 12820 crank kits. 2 are still in use...1 of them is about to be opened up and checked for Bottom end noise...the other one I have had no complaints. As for the other 2 One is sitting on my core pile..ended up replacing the whole motor for the customer. As for the last one...Thats a story in itself. "WARNING" check your cranks for a Repair sleave on the chance you get one with it...Recomend you swap it for one that doesn't have one, or use a National Seal not Felpro. Felpro has stated that not to be used in conjuction with one. This crank had one and it had a ripple and it moved around.Rear seal leaked had to redo the whole job at my exspence. Was told not defective, but the store replaced all parts. No labor reinburments.

Comments about Crankshaft Rebuilders Remanufactured Crankshaft Kit:

Of course this is not a "performance" part, no more than thier remanufactured starters are "performance." It is simply a stock crankshaft that has been machined. Cost is a few dollars cheaper then having a machine shop turn your own crank and buying bearings, and you don't have to wait. As an engine builder I have bought several of these and I am always happy, there is nothing wrong with .040 under bearings in a stock application.

Comments about Crankshaft Rebuilders Remanufactured Crankshaft Kit:

This rebuilt crankshaft is an excellent value but I would not use it for performance or HD applications - it came 20 undersize on the rods and 40 !! under on the mains. 40 under gives you an extremely thick main bearing to soak up all the meat they took off the mains on the crank. I will say the surface finish is excellent and the bearing to crank clearances checks out right @ 2 thou though so for a normal rebuild this crank kit is a great value. For performance use I would buy the premium reman crank from the same company, which guarantees you 10/10 under or better.

Comments about Crankshaft Rebuilders Remanufactured Crankshaft Kit:

The crank was of poor machining. The rod and main journals were far from micro polished. It will probably hold up under normal use but I would not use it for performance or heavy usage.

This crank is suppose to be an exact fit for my 96 Camaro z28. It says however that it is excluding the lt1 engine. So does the fit my z28 or does it not? The website says exact fit.

The 305 uses different balancing than the 350, because the 305 is a long stroke/small bore engine versus the 350's big bore/smaller stroke design, the balancing is different.
