Q:I have a 1994 chevy C1500 pickup, with a 4.3 liter V-6. Engine code Z. The engine has a balance shaft above the camshaft. The original crankshaft has a casting number of 10055480 with a small dimple in the front of the #1 rod journal and a hole in the #6 journal approximately 1 inch deep. The piston skirts are 3/4 inches from the bottom of the piston pin. I consider to be long skirt pistons. The remanufactured crank kit I purchased P/N #12720P with the same casting number has a hole in the #1 rod journal approximately 1 inch deep and no hole in the #6 journal. There are TWO cranks with the same casting numbers, one for short skirt pistons and one for long skirt pistons. Idont want to assemble this engin and have a balance or interference problem. Is this the correct crank kit for my engine. Thanks for the professional help.
Q:From what I'm reading, I dont really see a difference between this kit and the non-premium one, other than price. The warranty is the same, its for the same engines. so.. other than the price, whats the difference?
