          A:

Hi IXLR8, good question! Castrol always recommends following the guidelines of the original engine manufacturer for the recommended fluid for use in your specific application. This information can be found in the vehicles owner's manual or by contacting the manufacturer directly.

Will this work for my 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer ES? I've read that only the Mitsubishi Diamond ATF SP III is recommended for the Transmission.

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Glad to assist, RW! Castrol always recommends following the guidelines of the original engine manufacturer for the recommended fluid for use in your specific application. This information can be found in the vehicles owner's manual or by contacting the manufacturer directly. According to Castrol's ATF Guide recommended for a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer is Mitsubishi Diamond SP-III ATF. Castrol Transmax High Mileage ATF meets Mitsubishi Diamond SP-III fluid specifications and may be used in your application however Castrol Transmax High Mileage ATF is not approved by Mitsubishi. Japanese vehicle manufacturers only approve their own genuine (dealership) ATF's such as Mitsubishi Diamond SP-III ATF.

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

I'm happy to help, RW! This Castrol Transmax High Mileage ATF does not indicate that it meets the Mitsubishi Diamond SP-III Specifications. Castrol Transmax Import Multi-Vehicle does have the indication it meets this specification.

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Hello Mike, Castrol Transmax High Mileage is not a full or blended synthetic transmission fluid. For synthetic I would suggest Part Number: 06810 - TRANSMAX ATF+4 that has been certified for use in all Chrysler vehicles or Part Number: 06822 - Castrol Transmax Dextron VI (ATF) Automatic Transmission Fluid that has been certified and approved by General Motors.
