This is what you need for Toyota. Drain and fill 2 1/2 qts twice a year. Like new fluid in Florida heat. Smooth shift cant say enough for the cheap drain and fill 200,000 miles. $2500.00 for a rebuild that I will never need.

FOR MY 2000 TOYOTA SOLARA, IT TOOK 3.5L FOR A DRAIN AND REFILL PROCESS. BEFORE I USED THE CASTROL DETRON3 AND THE DETRON IV IS ALSO ON SALE AS THE SAME PRICE AS DETRON3 THUS WHY NOT SELECTED THE HIGHRER GRADE. MY CAR HAS 260K KM ALREDY. AFTER THE ATF CHANGED, THE CAR SHOWS MUCH MORE SMOOTHER AND QUIET WHILE THE GEARS CHANGING. 12 MTHS FROM NOW, FOR SURE I WOULD USE THE SAME ATF FOR ANOTHER ATF FLUID CHANGE. ALSO FOR MY VW GOLF 99, I WOULD TRY OUT THIS 3 MTHS FROM NOW AS THE WEATHER PERMIT TO DO IN MY GARAGE. IN FACT I HELP 3 FRIENDS WHO OWN THE TOYOTA CAMRY TO CHANGE THEIR ATF WITH THE SAME CASTROL DETRON IV.
IT IS ONLY A 15 MINS. JOB. IT ONLY COST ME $15.00 (3.5L ATF ON SALE) BUT THE DEALER CHARGES $95.00.

I can understand that you have had some frustration when getting the correct parts for your vehicle, Gus O! The software utilized on our website does not have the capability at this time to request you enter the quantity of a product. It is certainly a feature we have discussed adding and it may be in a future release of the website. The Castrol Transmax Dexron VI (ATF) Automatic Transmission Fluid in a gallon container is currently unavailable online. I would suggest that you visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store to check the availability of this fluid.

                    A:

Hi Roging, I'm glad to assist you! According to Castrol's Recommendations Guide recommended for use in the automatic transmission in a 2000 Toyota Tundra is DEXRON-III fluid -- DEXRON-VI fluid is designed to be back-serviceable to DEXRON-III applications therefore Castrol Transmax DEXRON-VI ATF may be used. The automatic transmission capacity for this vehicle listed per Castol's lubrication guide is as follows: Automatic Transmission, A340E or A340E 2.1 Quarts.

Hello there Steve! Happy to assist with your question! For your Chevy Silverado 6.6i with the Allison transmission it does call for Dexron 3 but our Dexron 6 is also compatible. As for capacity it will be approximately 7.7 quarts but it will vary depending on model and options. Measure the amount of fluid drained and replace with same amount, measure and adjust if needed.

                • Q:

Your web site shows that Dextron VI ATF is not compatible for my 2002 BMW 325i E46 with a GM transmission. After speaking with the BMW service department, Dextron VI is compatible as long as you do a full flush. The original ATF fluid in the 2002 BMW 325i ( Part #83220024359 which is Texaco ETL 8072B) is no longer available, so for the DIY mechanic the Dextron VI option is viable. I think your website should be updated to reflect this option.

                  • CUSTOMER CARE

                    A:

I'm glad to assist, Marty! This Castrol Transmax Dexron VI Automatic Transmission Fluid is the correct fluid type for your 2004 GMC Yukon. Transynd does not meet the specifications listed for your transmission. Your vehicle is designed use a Dexron VI fluid and Transynd meets up to Dexron®-IIIG specification. I suggest getting your transmission flushed and filled with Dexron VI to ensure the transmission is using the manufacturer's suggested fluid if you have already started using Transynd.

There are a lot of the Allison transmissions that are using the Transynd as the product meets Allison TES-295 (AN-011001), Allison TES-468 and Allison C-4 (27403598). These are heavy duty transmissions generally used with the Duramax diesel trucks and 8.1L gasoline in the GM trucks. The GM SUVs received GM transmissions.
