Comments about Castrol Transmax +4 (ATF) Automatic Transmission Fluid (1 Quart):

I've used Castrol since the early 1980's and it's never let me down. Installed 4.5 quarts of fluid and a new filter for the 50,000 mile transmission service, and the transmission is running noticably smoother.

Shop manual says to use liquid gasket, but go with a good qaulity rubber gasket. Once you drop the pan, fliud will drip out, literally, for more than an hour making it impossible to have a clean dry serface to apply the liquid gasket...odds are it will leak and at $7 a quart, you don't want to drop that pan again to install a rubber gasket...also, use a torque wrench to get it right...too tight or loose and it will leak.

Comments about Castrol Transmax +4 (ATF) Automatic Transmission Fluid (1 Quart):

I try to perform my own car repair if i can and finally decided to change the trans fluid on my 2005 caravan v6 and i was hesitant to do it but doing the flush on my 1998 lexus and after searching i found that castrol is my brand after changing the filter and the 3 to 4 quarts. I noticed no negative my trans stated to shift better than ever after that i decided to detatch the coolant lines and go for a full flush. MAN WAS i in for a verry good surprise. After filling flushing all the black/metalic fluid i stated up the car and shifted throught all the gears on bu one in PRNDL3 and drove on each gear for about a block each and filled it up.

OH MY GOD MY TRANSMISSION SHIFTS LIKE MY NEW 2012 honda odyssey.

from grave to gold i recommend castrol over mobile1

Engine is 3.7 v6 vin 1J4GL48K24W225150. Also would a total flush be adviseable since it has regular conventional fluid installed before. I change every 40,000 miles so this will be third change. A:

With reference to your inquiry on the Castrol ATF +4 Automatic Transmission Fluid - part# 06810, to check your automatic transmission fluid, look for a dipstick handle sticking out of your transmission. This is located toward the rear of an in-line engine on vehicles with rear-wheel drive. If your vehicle has front-wheel drive, the transmission fluid dipstick is sticking out of the transaxle. With the gearshift in Neutral or Park and the parking brake on, let your engine run. Be sure the engine is warm when you pull out the dipstick. I'm going to change the filter in my transmission of my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L. How many quarts should I have to top it back off and also, someone told me it has 2 filters in the pan, is that correct? Thanks
