This standard is recognized by Japanese OEMs in certifying ATF for use in their vehicles. Furthermore, while Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle ATF is designed to meet the demanding requirements of many foreign transmissions, it also meets the requirements of many domestic vehicles as well. This includes many DaimlerChrysler, General Motors, and Ford vehicles. Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle ATF is fully licensed and approved under Ford MERCON® V.

Im a Honda guy and I know this says for Honda and it replaces ATF Z1 and DW1 however I have gone to Honda dealer and they claim this is not true. Now Castrol made this claim, not Honda. Honda Transmission are known for being funny. However this fluid has its place. Genuine Honda ATF is expensive. So when you flushing out the oil fluid you can use this to save $. I just remove the trans cooler hose and start the car and pour this into Tranny till all the old dark ATF is gone then I start to pour 7.5 QTs of Genuine Honda ATF DW1. Also Honda ATF DW1 is synthetic, Im not sure if this is synthetic however if it was Im sure they would put it on the bottle. However Im not saying its bad, It does have its place and I know people who use and are happy. However I like Genuine Honda AT Fluid. Just for the Trans. :)

Comments about Castrol Import Multi-vehicle (ATF) Automatic Transmission Fluid (1 Quart):

I tried several ATFs to see which produced the best shifts in my 1998 Nissan Altima. This was the clear winner. Smooth, quick shifts up and down. 2nd - Valvoline Mult-Import - slightly less smooth and clunky 2-1. 3rd - Valvoline MaxLife - noticeably harsher shifts, and shift timing not as precise. This combined with a small amount of Lubegard Red gives me new car shifts in my 16 year old - but much loved - heap.

My wife has a 2006 Mercury Milan that has 180K on it and still going strong. One of the things that was due to change was the the transaxle fluid. With care consideration, and not having to use the "motorcraft" brand FNR5, The specs for the Castrol, seemed to have a match. I did a complete tranmission flush (9 qts) siphoned out another after a few miles driving, then added a qt of Lucas additive for transmissions, Between this and the Castrol, smooth shifts were there again. Thanks!

93 accord w/182,000 miles. I flushed 3 times plus last fill to bring the total to 10 quarts. No pan off. Does not shift as hard. Do plan on changing again in 15,000 miles as recommened. Make sure you check level again after car sits for a day as all the contaminents cause the reading to change. Kind of like puting ice cubes in a glass of water with regards to displacement of liquid.

Happy to help you with your question Sarge! This Castrol ATF (Part No 06814) shows to be compatible with your 03 BMW 325xi. You mentioned you wouldn't be able to get the ATF you want until Monday but this can be used as a substitute. You can even enter your vehicle information on our web side and it will provide you with specific information like for a drain and refill service you would need 4.2 quarts, for a fill transmission service you would need 9.5.

Hi Meghan! This fluid would not be recommended for use for your application. Castrol does not have a fluid at this time meeting the requirements for a CVT transmission. Only Mitsubishi is able to identify the equivalent performance aspect and/or make a recommendation for an appropriate alternate product if available. I always recommend following the guidelines of the original engine manufacturer for the recommended fluid for use in your specific application. This information can be found in the vehicles owner’s manual or by contacting the manufacturer directly. Please contact Mitsubishi for further assistance and to ensure that you service your vehicle with the correct fluid.

I have found that other BMW owners have found that the multi-vehicle import ATFs work well for their vehicles. The bottle may provide a better indication of the specifications that the products meet.

I'm glad to assist, Angel! This Castrol Import Multi-vehicle (ATF) Automatic Transmission Fluid (Part No. 06814) will not "wreck" a 1997 Saturn SC-2. Most GM vehicles during those years would utilize a Dexron-III type ATF. This ATF meets the Dexron-III specifications as well as many other specifications for import and domestic vehicle manufacturers.
