Every since iv been driving iv used Castrol. So now that iv gotten 173,000 on my truck i use the high mileage oil. It hasnt let me down yet so why stop now. I dont know much about oil except the basics. But i do know that if it works why use anything else. Good price and had plenty in stock.

Put it in one of my older vehicles and noticed a difference. On my other older vehicle couldn't tell if it made a difference but the price is about the same as the syn-blend I use in my primary vehicle so why not use it!

Hi. I want to try this Oil in my 2005 chevy Impala 3.4 engine. But my owners maunual tells me that i need to use engine oil with that American Petroleum Institute starburtst symbol. I always use the castrol oil GTX in the white bottle but wanted to try the high milage because my car has over 100,000 miles. Is it ok to use this oil eventhough it doesnot have that starburst symbol? Thanks for the reply!

no not allways and its also not always the best thing to do running exactly what the manufacturer of the vehicle says. It all depends upon the weather conditions hot or cold weather how many mile are on the vehicle and a number of other things come into play here and the weight number on the bottl is how thick the oil is say it 5w-30 it is 5 weight thinner when it is cold and gets to be thicker as it warms up hence why it is called a multi viscosity oil personally i run a straight hd30 weight oil in the summer for protection against heat all the time cold or hot. But in winter i run a 5w-30 so the oil can pump up the hydrolic lifters in my truck faster when it gets really cold out. but in any case thicker is in no way allways better and i highly recomend the use of lucas oil stabilizer with a good oil that stuff is great
