Comments about Castrol EDGE Extended Performance 0W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil (1 Quart):

Back in the day and depending on your driving conditions, many manufacturers' schedules permitted 10k miles but I changed the Dino oil at 2.5k miles. What a waste and burden on the environment. I use this in my 2012 Civic and follow the maintenance minder to determine my change interval. At 10k miles, I change it even though the maintenance minder says I have 20 percent left. This oil does appear dirtier than I prefer, but the interior of the valve cover, the cam, chain, and valve train appear like new. With the increased price of oils, I am very happy with my change interval. I have never had to add oil, although the oil level does drop very little from the full mark when changed.

Comments about Castrol EDGE Extended Performance 0W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil (1 Quart):

I've been using this oil in my 2003 Civic Hybrid for the past few years and even though my car has over 132,000 miles, it runs like new. No oil leaks, no smoke, no power loss.

Synthetic is the way to go if you want you car to last.

High quality product - provides increased milage while reducing wear. Recommended by many new car/truck manufactures.

The drawback is cost - expensive with few deals to reduce price.

I have a 2015 Mazda6, which is identical to yours in every respect and the dealer and owners manual said to change it every 7,500 mi. This advice should be considered conservative because most synthetics can go up to 15,000 miles between changes. Even run of the mill 5W-30 nonsynthetic oils today can go 7,500 miles between changes. My advice is that in order to keep your warranty current would be to change it every 7,500 miles as specified in your owners manual, because Castrol is a fully synthetic oil (and at $10 a quart) it would be a waste of money to change it more frequently.
