Comments about CARQUEST Window Reg Power Window Regulator and Motor Assembly:

There were no instructions with the part. Kind of just figured what to do from taking the old part out. Thought I would have adjustment problems with attaching the window to the part, but I slid the glass into the clasps and just tightened the screws. There was no adjustment needed. Excellent. There was a block of foam riveted to the door with plastic, pins that I needed to remove in order to fit the regulator into the door cavity. I tried to avoid removing it because I didn't have replacement pins and I didn't want to rip the foam. They were a little difficult to get out but, I was able to salvage the pins and only had minimal damage to the foam. I watched a video on how to take the door panel off. This is a 2000 Lesabre. The door in the video did not have a connector in the middle of the door. It is 3 plastic shafts that are plastic welded to a metal bracket which clips to the door. I could not see how to get it off because there was not enough space to see behind the panel while this bracket was holding it on. There were 2 clips. One on the left and on the right. I would have needed to work on each side blindly with a small slotted screwdriver to get the clips removed. There is a release on the top and the bottom of each side. I didn't know what I needed to do until I broke them off. I had to glue them back to the bracket with some JBweld. So far this seems to have worked. Other than that everything went well. Usually working on doors has been a nightmare. The pins don't hold when reassembling or plastic breaks etc… and the door is just not the same. I tested the window and it works like new. I raced it with the other side and the new one won. I figure if the first one broke after 12 years then this one will probably last until the car dies. I still have to fix my front passenger window. I hope the tear down and assembly goes as well. I will look to buying a regulator and motor from here if I need it for that fix.

Unit fit easily and properly in rear left door of a 2002 Buick Lesabre Custom. Taking the door apart was the hardest part.

Original window regulator pocket for end of cable is plastic and very thin, it broke out. Poor design, new one the same way, however they say it has a life time warantee. That is the reason I bought this one. Ordered on line for $35 less than store price and picked up at store next day.
