Comments about Carquest Wearever Parking Brake Cable:

After reading the reviews I was ready to do some grinding to fit the cable end in the aluminum tube. Bought a pair and low and behold one cable has been newly redesigned. It actually has the ball on the end for the caliper instead of the barrel and the end that goes into the aluminum tube has the reducer also like the OE cable.Needless to say I asked the parts guy to order me another ball end style cable. Very Happy.
(Note:The picture currently shown is the old grind to fit style)

Comments about Carquest Wearever Parking Brake Cable:

I had to modify the vehicle's aluminum cabin exit tube for this to work. the end diameter of the cable is too big to fit in the tube, allowing water to enter the cable and corrode the casing over time.

Comments about Carquest Wearever Parking Brake Cable:

I bought both brake cables L/H & R/H. The cables looked good, but I had to modify the shaft on each to fit in tube. Also cable was missing protective sleeve which original cables had.

Comments about Carquest Wearever Parking Brake Cable:

Required slight modification of cable tube to ensure proper fit and function, but considering the price and availability (in stock at local store) it is a very good product.

Comments about Carquest Wearever Parking Brake Cable:

This product would not fit my 2001 Jetta as advertised. It had to be modified by grinding and filing the cable jacket ferrule so that it would fit in the aluminum guide tube. Also, the stock cable was coated, this one is not. This may lead to a shorter life span of the guide tube due to abrasion. The jacket is also much larger in diameter, so the cable hangers had to be opened up to fit.
