Comments about Carquest Wearever Parking Brake Cable:

Lots of aftermarket parts at Advance are wonderful, but this is not one of them. Most aftermarket parking brake cables (in my experience) are garbage. These are being obsoleted by Ford(95-01 years), but if you can find an OEM part somewhere you should buy it, it is not much more money. If not be prepared to change them often. The last one snapped where the loop goes around the lever. They also are a different diameter than the OEMs, and have to be fastened with wireties and wont fit the clips. I also have to add protection to certain parts of the cable(the OEM is thicker in those places). The OEM is also sheathed, this is supposedly galvanized metal(if they will only last that long before they corrode).I guess they are OK if you use them once a year for State Inspections(then you risk corrosion). Eventually though these will be your only choice, what can you do.
