Comments about Carquest Wearever Master Cylinder - New:

This product is poor in quality, but will last just past the 30 day warranty. This is not a slam against Advance Auto Parts. I shop there frequently and most of the time have a good experience with their product. I am very careful when installing new replacement parts and go by the book. I believe in doing a job right and take pride in my work, so this negative comment is not coming from someone who doesn't know what he's doing. I have replaced this master cylinder twice. Both times I have lost front brakes because the o-ring for the first piston inside does not hold for some reason. Brakes were bled properly. It did work for about 3 weeks, and then I started noticing a little amount of slip. By the time it was bad enough to realize the master cylinder was bad yet again, it was past the warranty. Cardone needs to tighten up. I've lost time and money. It's obvious now why they only back it up for 30 days. Do not by their reman or their new cylinder. It would behoove Advance Auto to no longer provide their master cylinders.

Comments about Carquest Wearever Master Cylinder - New:

I bought this master cylinder to replace the one on my daughter's 1993 Pontiac Bonneville because the brake pedal was slowly sinking all the way to the floor. It did not resolve the issue and the electronics do not match up with the plug for the fluid sensor. When plugged in, I would get the brake warning light indicating that I was low on fluid even though the fluid is full. I unplugged the electronics and the warning went away. I will have to try the old reservoir to see if it will fit and solve that part of the problem. Now I must keep looking for the reason why the brake pedal sinks to the floor.
