Comments about Carquest Wearever Gold Semi-Metallic Brake Pads - Front (4-Pad Set):

I use the same brand in a Pontiac Sunfire and they worked very well. They also improve the braking in the 1990 Grand Am with new discs. But...they appear to be manufacturer thin especially the outside pad. The outer pad wear to its limit sooner that the inner. This may decreased their useful life. If this a OE size specification it should be corrected by the actual provider.

        A:

That depends on a person's driving habits. Most GM products have a "squeaker," which is a small sheet metal clip attached to the brake pad that will scrape against the rotor when the pad has reached a certain thickness. Listen for a high pitched noise when applying the brakes.
