Carquest Wearever Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder

Part No. WCA78734 Warranty Details

See if this part fits a specific vehicle.

Check Vehicle Fit

Direct replacement Wheel Cylinders are designed to fit specific vehicle applications and to ensure a proper fit every time. Normal wear may cause piston seals to leak. Corrosion and pitting can also occur inside Wheel Cylinders as moisture builds up in the brake fluid. A leaky Wheel Cylinder can be dangerous to the driver, causing gradual softening of the brake pedal and creating brake pull to one side.

Product Features:
  • All Wheel Cylinders are made with high quality EPDM rubber cups and boots for long lasting performance
  • Wheel Cylinder bores are surface tested to ensure an optimum sealing surface for the pressure cups
  • Due to repair time and cost, it is more desirable to replace instead of repair Wheel Cylinders
  • Recommended replacement is suggested when servicing drum brake

Comments about Carquest Wearever Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder:

Replace brake line to rear of proportioning valve. When bled new line, saw right side wheel cylinder leaking. New WCA 78734 Cylinder matched 3/8 fitting on my line. Cylinder came with 2 new mounting bolts. After mounting, I cracked the valve about 1/8 inch. I did not get air around valve. Pressure bled system by having an assistant press pedal 5 times and hold it on the 5th. I'd then crack the valve. Bleed-o-Matic Jar and tube were very helpful.

Bleed screw threads and/or cylinder bleed threads so overcut air is pulled in when performing bleeding operation.
