Carquest Wearever Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder

Part No. WCA610109 Warranty Details

Check Vehicle Fit

Direct replacement Wheel Cylinders are designed to fit specific vehicle applications and to ensure a proper fit every time. Normal wear may cause piston seals to leak. Corrosion and pitting can also occur inside Wheel Cylinders as moisture builds up in the brake fluid. A leaky Wheel Cylinder can be dangerous to the driver, causing gradual softening of the brake pedal and creating brake pull to one side.

Product Features:
  • All Wheel Cylinders are made with high quality EPDM rubber cups and boots for long lasting performance
  • Wheel Cylinder bores are surface tested to ensure an optimum sealing surface for the pressure cups
  • Due to repair time and cost, it is more desirable to replace instead of repair Wheel Cylinders
  • Recommended replacement is suggested when servicing drum brake

bad design

Comments about Carquest Wearever Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder:

This part has a poor design. The bleeder has ~10 threads and the wheel cylinder has ~6, but due to the design of both together only ~3 engage. Aluminum threads require higher thread engagement in order to obtain the required torques. The only way to tighten the bleeder is to delicately tighten it to a lower torque and risk leaking brake fluid. Horrible design and costs $10 more than the competition. I would never recommend this product to anyone.

Comments about Carquest Wearever Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder:

I did have two issues, the master cylinder was bad and the one wheel cylinder. I had a mobile mech do the work, due to back issues, after two wheel cyl striped out. I called it a job done. when the weather cleared I got a 3rd wheel cyl and noticed the bleeder screw had a class 1 fit or as we use to say in Navy "A" school back in the day it's a Tijuana fit. I let the fluid leak through and then just made it as snug as I dared. 3 day now tho still looking for other options. 3 or 4 threads is not enough.
