Carquest Wearever Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder

Part No. WCA45999 Warranty Details

See if this part fits a specific vehicle.

Check Vehicle Fit

Direct replacement Wheel Cylinders are designed to fit specific vehicle applications and to ensure a proper fit every time. Normal wear may cause piston seals to leak. Corrosion and pitting can also occur inside Wheel Cylinders as moisture builds up in the brake fluid. A leaky Wheel Cylinder can be dangerous to the driver, causing gradual softening of the brake pedal and creating brake pull to one side.

Product Features:
  • All Wheel Cylinders are made with high quality EPDM rubber cups and boots for long lasting performance
  • Wheel Cylinder bores are surface tested to ensure an optimum sealing surface for the pressure cups
  • Due to repair time and cost, it is more desirable to replace instead of repair Wheel Cylinders
  • Recommended replacement is suggested when servicing drum brake

    Cannot install thru backing plate

Comments about Carquest Wearever Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder:

Have a grinder available when attempting to install this cylinder on either side as you must
grind off 1/8th to 3/16" on the top(up) side
of these cylinders to install thru the backing
plate. As manufactured, they are too large on the
top side to fit without modifying. I did make them
fit, but it took unnesssary work to do it
        Price is right however.

            this part is no good

Comments about Carquest Wearever Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder:

the part when installed on my 79 trans am's rear end would not permit the remainder of the drum brake mechanical parts to be installed. the device they had provided me is 1" longer then the stock part it is supposedly a direct replacement for. the brake drum will not fit over the pads with this component in place.
