Carquest Wearever Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder

Part No. WCA45873 Warranty Details

See if this part fits a specific vehicle.

Check Vehicle Fit

Direct replacement Wheel Cylinders are designed to fit specific vehicle applications and to ensure a proper fit every time. Normal wear may cause piston seals to leak. Corrosion and pitting can also occur inside Wheel Cylinders as moisture builds up in the brake fluid. A leaky Wheel Cylinder can be dangerous to the driver, causing gradual softening of the brake pedal and creating brake pull to one side.

Product Features:
  • All Wheel Cylinders are made with high quality EPDM rubber cups and boots for long lasting performance
  • Wheel Cylinder bores are surface tested to ensure an optimum sealing surface for the pressure cups
  • Due to repair time and cost, it is more desirable to replace instead of repair Wheel Cylinders
  • Recommended replacement is suggested when servicing drum brake

Comments about Carquest Wearever Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder:

I wasn't sure this was the right wheel cylinder at first because the bleeder screw was much smaller than the original. I did fit and works well though. Very good product.

Does not fit a 1971 Camaro

Comments about Carquest Wearever Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder:

the rubber boot is the wrong configuration for it presses against the the raised lip that houses the upper half of the cylinder.

I am looking at two different wheel cylinders for my car both look the same and both say they fit my car but one has a bore size of 1" and the other has 7/8" bore size. Does this matter? If so how do I know which I do need?

Hi Carlos, glad to assist you! To check the exact fit application for the Tru-Torque Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder (Part No. W45873), please provide us the year, make, model and engine size of your vehicle.

            • A:

To answer the question if this will fit left and right you do not need the year, model, etc of the car. All you need to do is look at it and see that both the bleeder and hose connection is in the center. That tells you that it is for both sides when used in the rear brake system. Look at the front cylinders and you will see that the hose connection faces to the left or to the right... that tells you differently. Hope this helps.
