I just installed these on the back of my 2000 4wd F-150. These rotors have a great, solid feel to them and fit perfectly on the rears. I have been lucky with this brand of rotor and never feel that I should have gone more expensive despite the multiple vehicles I used them on. The rebate with the pads sealed the deal for me this time around. With basic hand tools, you can do a rear brake job. I would not hesitate to purchase these again once the front brakes are due, I'll stick with the same setup.

I replaced the Rear Brake Rotors on my 2000 F150 while I was replacing the wheel bearings and one axle shaft that went bad.

The first rotor took some "persuasion" to install... I didn't like that, however assumed it was because of the new aftermarket axel shaft/hub/lugs (also bought from Advanced Auto Parts) and that maybe one or two of the lugs were not perfectly oriented in the hub?

I moved to the other side of the truck and the new rotor simply would NOT slide on... even with hitting it with some 3lb persuasion, pulling it off, rotating it one bolt hole at a time again and again... it wasn't going to go. The problem?.... the large center hole that allows the rotor to slide past the hub was off-center. There was no way that this rotor was going on this original Ford axle/hub.

So I had to reinstall the old rotor. Next day, I exchanged the rotor for a replacement. The counter rep understood what I was telling him and confirmed it after placing the new replacement rotor on top of the one that I was returning, he said, "you're right, the hole is off center".

I installed this one without effort... slid on like it was supposed to, no persuading needed. This prompted me to remove the other rotor that was installed on the new axel and return it for exchange too... just had a bad feeling about it and didn't want issue later. Its replacement also slipped over the (new aftermarket) lugs and hub with no hesitation.

I don't know what happened with the first two rotors, but those should not have passed the quality inspection in India, China or Taiwan, where it was made.

So I had to do the brake job twice and spent a lot of extra time, brake cleaner and headache over something that normally doesn't take me long at all to do... going to have to make serious consideration before buying these rotors again. Although the installed rotors seem to be working just fine. "Let's get you back on the road" wasn't helped by this first set of rotors...

My final complaint... rotors were purchased online at discount... when making a warranty exchange I was refunded purchase price... however I was required to re-purchase the replacement rotor at regular price...

                      A:

Hi Roy, happy to help you! There are many different ways to remove a stuck brake rotor, ranging from simple solutions to those that take much longer to complete and require professional tools. You can remove the stuck brake rotors by using a large rubber mallet, rotor puller, or acetylene torch. However, I would suggest that you take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before starting your project in order to avoid any intermittent.
