First one was out of round and was making noise when using brakes. Replacement was fine.

Comments about Carquest Wearever Brake Rotor - Rear:

These are basic brake rotors. I docked a few points because they are not very high quality steel and they rust immediately. However, this is reflected in their price.

I docked more points because one of the two rear brake rotors I received is slightly out-of-round brushes up on a clip in the caliper with each revolution. This is due to poor machining and tolerance/quality control.

Otherwise, these are perfectly fine. I will probably buy them again, but with more caution.

            • Q:

Is the steel the same as Manufactured rotors? I'd like a pair of rotors that don't rust as bad as original. Any recommendations.

All rotors rust, they are bare metal. They are covered with an oil in the box which prevents them from rusting prematurely, but you must remove this with brakleen.
It is possible there may be rotors which have the non-contact surface covered or painted so they wont rust, but I have never heard of them.
