I replaced all of my rotors and brakepads at the same time. There are a lot of options out there for performance, but since I'm not planning on doing a lot of towing or heaving hauling, I thought I'd go more of the "wallet sensitive" route. I've used Wearever rotors and pads in the past, and never had an issue with them.

Installation of brake pads and rotors are relatively simple, but you should have some basic shop equipment such as a jack, jackstands, brake cleaner, clamps to compress the brake calipers, a metal coat hanger to hang the caliper, and a heavy duty 1/2" torque wrench for the lugs and the front caliper mount bolts... both which have specs significantly higher than I would have guessed (consult your owners manual for the lug torque and a repair manual for the brake caliper mount torque info).

Back to the product, I obviously won't know about the value of this product for years to see how it wears and performs with some age and mileage on it. Initially, however, swapping all of these parts took care of the the vibration on hard braking and it stops as well as I could expect.

While I'm "wallet sensitive", I try not to be pound foolish. If your brake rotors are showing any significant wear, and your brake pads are in need of replacement, just swap them all at the same time. It'll cost you a few more bucks up front, but it'll help keep them old rotors from messing up the new pads and save you time and/or money in the future.

I put the rotor's on the front and they were fine at slow speeds but when you get on the freeway and hit the brakes brakes pulsated. And they didnt have 10 miles on them. The origanal rotors never pulsated and they had 57000 miles on them. I figured that if I replace the brakes I would put new rotors on. Well im taking them back and putting the orginal one's back on.

      • Q:

does a film of grease go between the brake rotor and front hub.
Asked on 1/16/2016 by tata from Beaver, KY

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Hello Tata. I will be happy to help. Although it is not a requirement some grease on the hub and on the back of the rotor where they meet would not hurt. This would prevent rust from forming so that the next time you replace the rotor it comes off the hub easily.

      • Q:

can I get the rotor hub assembly without bearings. For a 2004 F150 2wd 4.6 motor.
Asked on 8/24/2014 by billy from summerville sc

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

I'm glad to assist, Billy! There are only two options for brake rotors for your 2004 Ford F150 RWD 4.6L V8. If you have a 6 lug or standard payload package then Wearever Part No. YH145519 is the correct rotor. If you have a 7 lug, Part No. YH145520 is the correct part. The 7 lug style does not indicate that the bearing is included.

This Wearever Brake Rotor (Part No. YH145527) is for the 4WD version of your truck and you can find this information in the Description tab under the Product Application(s) heading when your vehicle information is entered into the website.

      • Q:

I'm looking at front brake rotor replacement on a 2005 Ford F150 XL. It seems I can replace just the rotor or the rotor with studs and center piece. Is just the rotor easily removed from the centerpiece on my truck? Thanks for a reply.

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Hi bones, great question! I would always recommend replacing rotors with studs and bearing. Since the rotor is in need for replacement, the existing studs and bearing are on the verge of failure and needs attention too.

          A:

Good question Mike! Advance Auto Parts does sell Made in the USA products as well as products manufactured from many other countries in order to keep our pricing competitive. Please also keep in mind that many suppliers have multiple manufacturing plants that could result in different countries of origin for the same part.
