1st timers! There's a little backing plate on existing rotor holding the inner bearings in. I thought it might have been pressed in so took it to the store to show them what I was up against. They offered me both the backing plate and the bearing, but after seeing what the backing plate consisted of, only got that, because I knew I could get it out without damaging the bearings.
In case you don't know, do NOT just compress the brake cylinders back into the Master Cylinder. Good way to ruin your m.c.! Instead, Compress them back in by loosening the bleeder valve. (I took the cover off my master cylinder while doing this and didn't even have to bleed my brakes afterwards!)
So far, no grinding, squealing, or any of the other obnoxious sounds associated to brakes/rotor. Is very quiet & can't tell anything was ever wrong with it.

Rotor looks to be a good product. Biggest downfall is that the ABS toner ring is not included for 4 wheel ABS vehicles. I see that since my purchase, photos have been added showing this. After removing my factory ABS toner ring, I found that the rotor was machined too small and the factory ring fell off when installed. Could not find a replacement ring that was offered at the time. Pricing is the same as other retailers, except that with this piece missing, it causes this part to be overpriced in comparison. In summary, I think it would be a great part if you have a rear wheel ABS vehicle only, otherwise, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Comments about Carquest Wearever Brake Rotor - Front:

These turned my pulsating brake pedal to a smooth stop. One thing to note is that these Rotors do NOT include the Bearing seal which you would be lucky to get off the old rotor. That being said Be sure to pick up new Wheel bearing seals for less than $8.00 a piece. While you are in there just do the Bearings as well. No reason to go back in there twice. If you do the job right you will be good for years to come.

The rotor is also the hub, so you do have to pull the wheel bearings to change. However it does come with races built into the hub so you don't have to purchase them. Easy to install and you get the chance to grease the bearings at the same time.

I normally use Wagner but they were not in stock. These rotors DO include the races even though the store staff ANd the on-line help said they did not. The quality seems good, time will tell. Braking seems fine.

Very easy to install. Bearing races are already set, making changing them a breeze.

Wish I had known before I got them, but they need the perforated plate on the backside to provide input to the ABS, (see the other Wearever rotor). Now my ABS is disabled
