  • Q:

How do I know if I have 2 wheel ABS or 4 wheel ABS?
    I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.2 with 4 wheel drive but
I checked my manuals and the chiltons book but no
explanation on how to tell the difference. Thanks for
any help you can give. I know my front hoses from the
caliper are rubber then metal and then the other end is rubber.
I need the 2 front hoses.
    Thanks again

The 4 wheel ABS has a sensor at each brake, front and rear while the 2 wheel ABS has a speed sensor on the differential housing. Check your front wheels and look behind the hub for a wire, there should be a speed sensor and if it is there you have 4 wheel ABS or else you have a 2 wheel ABS. Once you know your vehicle's ABS you can call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
