I have owned several Toyota Corollas. When they reach 80+K the brakes get noisy--grinding and squealing. I have had cleanings, brake jobs, even sold cars because of this. Nothing worked until I replaced the drums--an inexpensive route to driving, sounding, and stopping like new. HINT: The Corolla's have two small bolt holes designed to make drum removal easy. Buy two 8 mm by 1.25 pitch bolts. tighten them a quarter turn alternating back and forth between the two. The drums pop off EASILY. Watch for specials from Advance Auto Parts that make the prices the best on the web. Hope this solves your problems, too.

Did a complete brake job by replacing everything on the back wheels. Right off under mild braking there was a thumping sound. Put the old drums back on one at a time. When both were changed, the noise went away. Both of these Wearever drums were out of round. Bought new drums from another supplier and the brakes are now great. These bad drums cost me a lot of grief and hard work. Never buy these again!!

I was very pleased with the brake drums that I received from Advanced Auto they were in very good condition I pick mine up from the store after ordering then online just took a couple of minutes in and out of the store the sales clerk was very cooperative and helpful this could not have been an easier pickup have the parts I ordered online as far as the installation gas it was a real Breeze I picked up a can of brake cleaner to thoroughly clean the inside of the drums before I install them everything went together very well I will order from Advanced Auto online again thank you

Installed fine, and there was a little bit of flutter in brakes for first week while shoes settled in. Smooth ever since.

Comments about Carquest Wearever Brake Drum - Rear:

I have now gone through 2 sets of these drums in the last month. Both sets were completely warped and caused major vibration. I finally just returned them and went with a competitor. The vibration went away. Now I'm having problems with the wearever brake shoes. They are sticking to the drum and causing a back knocking sound when braking.

Save yourself time and frustration, stay away from Wearever parts. I've learned my lesson.
