Comments about CARQUEST Water Pump - New:

No problems with this water pump on my 96 diesel suburban. My engine is a 6.5 turbo with two thermostats. We have only put about 300 miles on the vehicle since installation, so I don't know how well it will hold up. The original had almost 300,000 miles on it.

I see the question has been asked 3 times W/O answer. I have 1996 GMC 2500 6.5 Turbo Diesel. In 97 they changed the water pump from 80 gpm to 130 gpm. I think it is an exact fit to just change to the higher output pump to help prevent hot spots in engine. So the question remains... we dont want the 80 gpm we want the 130 gallons per minute. Which one is this? and what part number is the 130 gpm if not this one? Thanks..

Hi Ernie, glad to serve you! I apologize we were unable to provide more information on the GPMs of the water pumps in our earlier responses. The CARQUEST Water Pump (T5089) is the one that incorporates twin non bypass-blocking thermostats and a 130 GPM water pump, it is also called the second design. The first design with single thermostat is the CARQUEST Water Pump (T5077).

I need to know if this waterpumps flow rate (gpm) for my 1998 chevy k3500 6.5 td truck has 2 thermostats. A 130gpm is what is recommended... just curious you dont have the flow rate in the specs.
