We shoulda listened to previous reviews !! VERY difficult to install is an UNDERSTATEMENT ! Was such a pain that we had to postpone our vacation because we havent been able to get it in yet!! Previous review was also right,in that be prepared to buy new pipe, and sure enough our's broke ! Its a factory part....so it'll cost you $70.Thank God,we FINALLY found one at a salvage yard for $5 ! next time Id rather have a root can w/o painkiller, before doing this job again !!

Comments about CARQUEST Water Pump - New:

I have been shopping Advance auto for a long time ,and have always been happy with them ,however the water pump I purchased was a new not rebuilt one, leaked worse than the old one I took off. It sucks when you lose money on a job I needed to start all over and Install a factory Ford pump at twice the price but couldn't risk a another bad pump from Advance .

            A:

I'm happy to help, Lu! I'm not extremely familiar with the 1998 Ford Windstar 3.8L. I found a hose assembly from Motorcraft, Part No. KM3054 that may be what you need. This part is not sold online. I suggest contacting your local Advance Auto Parts store to have them check the paper catalog for availability and if it's indeed the part you need.

        • Q:

my ford 2000 winstar has a metal tube between the water pump and lower hose, I cannot seem to find this part listed anywhere.
the lower hose listed is the proper length if used with this metal tube.

I assume this part is to prevent any problem between the serp belt and the lower hose
