My issue was not with the product I ordered online. I went the week before I purchased this part because my car was having trouble starting. I knew it could be only the alternator or starter because I have a new battery. I went to the Knoxville Middlebrook store to have my alternator and starter tested. The agent helping me hooked up his machine to the battery, then showed me the screen. He said that anytime the screen keeps going back to the "gas engine or diesel engine" screen that it indicated it was the alternator. So I purchased the alternator at the store. Two days later my mechanic installed the alternator. The next morning my car would not start again. It was actually the starter. So because your agent didn't even bother to check both like I asked him to, I spent an extra $300 in parts and labor that was unnecessary. Needless to say, I will not be shopping at any Advance store or online. I think your agent saw a single woman in distress and took advantage instead of truly helping me to figure out what was wrong. As a single mom, I cannot afford and extra $300 on parts that I don't need.

This starter failed after 7 days and I only used the car on 3 of those days. I thought I was going to be stuck 180 miles from home when the solenoid just screamed every time I tried to start the car. After 6 attempts, it finally started. I was afraid to turn the car off after that, but I had to when I bought gas. Of course it took multiple attempts before the starter worked again when I wanted to leave the gas station. That ruined my plans for a beach day and we came straight home.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

my companion needed a new starter on her car and I found this one on the online store figured I'd give it a shot. I'm glad I did because I was able to purchase the starter online and pick it up the same day and install it on her car myself. Saving around $150 that my mechanic would have charged to fix it the following day. Needless to say my companion was happy to have her car fixed right away and I was happy to have saved money by purchasing this starter and installing it myself.
