The OEM starter had a spade connector that was exposed to outside elements. This is said to be the cause of above normal incidence of failure (which is my experience). Replacement starter came with a wire attached to the starter (via nut)and a crimp connector on the other end (with shrink tubing surround). I was able to cut off the spade connector and crimp to the wire from the starter. Heating the heat shrink tubing provided a water proof seal.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

It was just what I needed to do the job. I was happy to see the updated wire on the solenoid to fix what was wrong with it in the first place. Overall, I was satisfied with the replacement.

Bought this starter to replace a cheaply made one that I had to replace two solenoids on. Figured it would be better to buy a new starter rather than a new solenoid for over half the price of the starter. I've never had problems with Advance Auto products. This one is no exception. This starter brought the old Bronco to life! You can't beat it.

In the Manage My Vehicles area Trere needs to have the transmission listed. The starter I received was for an automate transmission. I needed one for an manual transmission. Two trips to the local store and I had to ask if the transmission made a difference? Well the starter is slow but working for now.

Installed this starter on a 95 f150 w/ a 302. Had no problems as it was an exact fit. Just had to splice one wire to "correct" what was said to be an improvement over the stock starter setup, but that was easy. May be a 30 minute job since I have no headers to wrap around the starter.

My 1992 F-150 pickup truck has 125,000 miles on it. The OE starter broke in a parking lot of a big box store. I purchased this starter on line and picked it up early the next morning. Took me about 1 hour to remove and replace the starter. Now the truck starts up quickly. Saved a good bit of money doing it myself!

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

I installed the re-manufactured starter on a 1996 f-150, four wheel drive, with a 302 motor. removal of the old starter was fairly easy. the new starter was an exact replacement, wires bolted up perfectly, starter fit correctly. The bolt holes lined up correctly, and required no shims. starter was the exact same as the one I removed. when I finally finished the install, I then hooked up the battery terminals too the battery. when I started the truck, it cranked over a lot faster then the old starter/
