I purchased this product to replace the old starter out of my 2002 Nissan Xterra 4x4. The old starter would get stuck while trying to start and after several beatings with a hammer would decide to work properly. Upon opening the box everything was in there as advertised and it even came with some simple installation instructions. After removing two bolts and a wiring connector, I fumbled the old starter out of the small hole that was located directly below it. I installed this product just as easily as removal and was complete with the job in less than 30 minutes. I've been using this starter for a week or so now and have had no issues that are starter related. Good Product, and the instructions were a plus.

The solenoid locked up on me after only 10 months of use. Pretty dissapointing as this was a difficult install on my 2002 Nissan Frontier.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

Product was in like new condition when purchased although it is technically a "remanufactured" product. It installed easily with a minimum amount of effort and above all tools. The most difficult part of the installation was removint the old starter and disconnecting the wires, in particular the single control wire that snaked through above the left wheel well over the front axle. On installation, this same wire was a problem snaking back through the small hole and back to themconnection point.
