Exact fit in our 2003 Toyota Corolla. Looked exactly like the OEM Toyota (Denso) starter it replaced. Starter is on front side of engine so it was very reachable from the top (front-most bolt) and bottom (electrical connectors and rear-most bolt). My son and I knocked the job out in 1-2 hours without having to put the car up on jacks. Thankful Advance Auto had this remanufactured model in stock and at an affordable price. New starter eagerly fired up the engine and we were happy! Threw the car up on ramps and changed the oil and filter while we were at it.

Fits perfectly on my Corolla. Easy to install if you know what you are doing. My car cranked up nicely. I just hope it last for a long time. You got to have your starter change after 140,000 miles. Do not wait for it to die on you. It will just be a hassle and will cost you extra bucks. Always look for a deal online and save a few bucks. Advanced auto has a free starter and alternator test. Use it to your advantage.

After just 4K miles this starter stopped working. Took it out and reinstalled it and it worked again but this time for only 2K miles. I have to tap on it to get it to work. Only a low quality item would do this after only 2-3 months of use and a total of only 6K miles. It has a "lifetime" warranty, but I don't look forward to having to spend a lifetime replacing this thing 3 or 4 times a year.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

The power connection post from the battery was too far away from the orginal location. If you have a few inches of slack or replace it with a longer cable this starter and solenoid combination will work. I did not have any slack so I took it back for a refund and bought one that looked just like the original that went in much quciker and easier.
The solenoid on this starter is just as big as the starter motor. This part is located just under the intake manifold on my Vibe so it is a tighter fit. Starter has no nose cone but that didnt appear to be a problem.

06 Vibe, Make sure to disconnect battery first. Then take the radiator cooling fan out, only 2 bolts. The most time consuming thing is figuring out how to unplug the electric connectors. There could be 100 connectors on a car and all but 2 will be different, seems real stupid to me! Two bolts holding starter 1 from each direction, 1 thru starter and 1 into starter. All can be done without raising the car off ground. I really like the ability to order on line, get extra discount and pick up at my local AA. It is all pulled and ready to go.

Got to make sure it exactly matches your style of starter or you may find out like we did that it does not fit the engine compartment. Had to find local and take old one with us. Also it would be nice that when the part is packaged the void sticker is not attached partially to packed in paperwork, as when the paper was pulled it pulled the void sticker off. Now I am stuck with a starter I cannot use.

The car will not start, but all dashboard lights/headlights will come on. No noise can be heard when turning the key to the START position. The car will have slow or labored cranking. Sometimes it will have just enough power to start the car, other times, it won't even crank.
