Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

Good fitting replacement for original starter. Was not sure how it would perform, but working well so far. Cranks much easier than old starter that had 257,000 miles on it.

    Waste of your time...

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

The original OEM starter lasted over 8 years. This is the second time I have had to do this job with this starter on my personal vehicle and I feel the price difference isn't worth the time wasted perfecting my skills at r/r starters.

Was a rebuilt stock unit that seems to function perfectly. Saw some other reviews questioning durability but so far has been just fine

Price: the price was fair...but if you have time to wait a week for one then you can find the same brand starter on [@] much cheaper.Review:This starter is a reman and in my opinion it would not meet the specs of the original "Hitachi" that came on the vehicle that lasted over eleven years...the original would have lasted longer if the blown headgasket wasn't hydrolocking the engine each time before the customer started the truck.this starter seems to strain to start the engine"it doesn't turn over near as fast as the OEM unit did...I doubt this unit will last as long as the original and that lifetime warranty will be used quite frequently...the 2 1/2 hours it takes the average shadetree mechanic do the job would make it more than worth it to buy a genuine Hitachi at twice the price and not have to worry about doing the job a second or third time...

Save your tiime and money ...

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

I just removed my 3rd WorldWide starter on my truck for replacement. The OEM lasted 8 years until it got damaged in an accident.
Replcaed it with a WW and it lasted less than 6 months. The replacement for that one has failed in about 8 months.
They are warrantied for life but that's not the point. It's the point of having to spend 2 hours to replace a starter that should last as long as the OEM.
Bottom line, opt for a new replacement or different brand of reman.
