Looked and sounded like a good starter. On an 03 Eclipse plan on removing oil filter, O2 sensor, and an exhaust support bracket.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

It fit great but the bolts on it were a different type of bolt from the stock one so I uses the stock bolts on the new part and it seemed to fit but actually stripped the copper ridges on the part and wouldn't tighten or come off but it worked and wasn't going anywhere so I left it be and it starts up great every time.

Product was a perfect fit for the wifes 2002 Eclipse Spyder. Did not know how bad the starter was until I bolted this baby in. Spins the engine so quick it starts in less than a second. Ordering online and picking up locally saves me time and money, both which are in short demand these days.

              A:

With reference to your inquiry on Worldwide Starter - Part No. 17694, the top stud normally holds two ground wires and has nylon insert. So you can't just loosen it then spin it off with fingers. A deep socket (5/8 deep socket) and a universal joint (on the socket) is recommended. This one is a trick because it’s in a tight spot but can be done with a 5/8 deep socket. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

              A:

Starter motor is usually located toward the rear of an automotive engine where the engine block connects to the transmission or transaxle case.
