Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

Just a heads to Toyota Tundra and Lexus owners: The starter is under the intake manifold, not under the car! The starter on my SR5 Tundra went bad. I looked up the part and the price was excellent so I ordered it and picked it up at Advance the next day, and got a on-line discount. I had my new starter, so I wiggled under my truck and looked for the bad one. Nothing. So I went and wiggled under the other side. Nothing. I got out from under the truck and a friend got in and turned the key while I was listening under the hood. There it was, positioned in a cage formed by the intake manifold, fuel injection system, coil pack wirings and 3.54 miles of rubber hoses. Its a long replacement and be careful. Good news is....the truck is back on the road and starts great.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

Nice having a Lifetime warranty and on a normal starter it is a quick change out but not on a 2004 Toyota Sequoia, you basicaly have to remove the top of the engine to get access to the starter and getting to the bolts is even worse. So this is not where you want to put a part you have to replace every year. If you goit the money I'd spend it on something that will last longer. Or you can take it to a Toyota Dealer who will instal their Remanufactured Starter in for you for $2,000 with a year warranty. There's no winning here.
