Starter is a great price less than half oem and N. brand, while still having a LL warranty. A side note Subaru starters fail with little to no warning. I left my car at family while out of town and starter failed, but car does have over 300k on original so it was due. When the starter fails the electrics work, but ignition just clicks on start up. This is a very easy job to replace. AAP saved me $$$ with this product over paying someone to replace.

This unit takes at least 3x longer to start in the crank position than my old Subaru starter. It will sit there in the crank position for much longer before the engine rolls over and starts. This is very strange! All of my connections are tight and my battery was load tested above the spec. I have cleaned all the grounds and checked for any other grounding issue but this starter is the only culprit. I wouldn't recommend this product. I will exchange it.

automatic not manual

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

The website didn't make it clear that this was for an automatic. We ended up having to return it and run all over the city to find the right one. The website should make it more evident which type of car it is for.

Had in stock at local store. Picked up and had installed in less than an hour. I was lucky for it to fail in front of my garage, after a 55 mile trip to club event.Josh had to starter out ready for me when I got to store. Sorry I didn't order online to get my discount.

My subaru legacy 2000 starter died after 193000 miles. It lived a full life.
This replacement starter was a perfect fit. A two hour DIY job, my car is running like new. The reviews and the price made me buy this one from advanced auto parts.
