      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Direct replacement for my 84 F150. Was a disapointed when picture originally showed copper unit, than was changed to aluminum and plastic. Also this replacement is a 2 row core, not a 3 row core.

        Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

I am rating this upon recent installation. I've had similar radiators before with the same manufacturer tag that have lasted, and being it's brass, im pretty confident about it lasting. If some years past the warranty it should leak, at least you can solder it back together! I should also note that I used it on a manual transmission, hence why I said the install was easy. The cooler plugs come pre-installed and do not require any tightening or teflon, so no hassle there. If you have an automatic, it comes with the brass fittings for the trans lines.

Hi obs, great question! The construction of this radiator is copper brass and the tank material is metal.

              • A:

I just got this radiator home and it is Aluminum with plastic tanks. Not what I was told (copper brass and metal tanks) and not the correct OE part for this application.

There is only one "core" in a conventional automotive radiator. The core can consist of 1,2,3 or more ROWS of tubes, the more rows, the greater the cooling ability of the radiator.
