Used in a 2001 Camry, 2.2L, made in Japan. A minor mod was required. There are 2 "nipples" that on the bottom of the fans and drop into notches in the radiator frame. These fit, however the original fans have 2 additional tabs on each side of the "nipples". The small tabs drop into corresponding holes in the OEM radiator that are NOT part of this replacement. To make it fit, I simply broke off the tabs. The unit comes with the rad cap and drain plug.

This did not fit my 2000 Kentucky made 4 cylinder Camry. The bolt holes for the fan were off too much to work. Other than that, it was OK (did have all the appropriate stuff, and yes it did have a drain). I returned it and bought a Spectra Premium at another auto parts store and it fir perfectly. Hint: If buying a new radiator in the store, bring your old radiator fans for fitament! I did when I returned this one and bought the second one.

    Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Although the radiator was exactly like the original radiator there was a fit problem. The two pins on each end of the bottom tank that secure the unit in the cross brace are larger in diameter than the original radiator therefore it would not fit into the mounting bushings. I drilled out the mounting bushings to accommodate the larger pins on the replacement radiator. Worked fine with this slight modification. I gave it five stars because it was an easy fix and everything else was a perfect fit.

      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

After installing drove and checked for leaks, no coolant leaks but this one has a transmission cooler. Leaking fluid at one fitting, Checked tightness of connections and another test drive showed it still leaked at same place. Called store purchased from they said install thread tape where I did not have to assemble. When took apart found a bad flair and thread from factory. I saw the sales person open the box that was stapled, this must have been a factory defect. Running all over town to find another store with one in stock. Good Luck with yours.

      Its an OK filament

      By

      from Hickory, Nc

      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Got one for my 2000 Toyota Solara 2.2 the filament was off by a 1/4" at the bottom where the radiator sat on the rubber mounts. It also had the typical problem with the tabs for the cooling fans. I had to clip the nibbles off so the fan could sit into place. The radiator was a lot lighter and thinner vs. the original radiator! For the price and the online discount, it was fair.. Next time I would choose the higher $$ one, this one had a radiator cap included..

      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Great service at Advance, always knowledgeable and helpful. This Ready-Rad radiator will do the trick but installation was made more difficult because pre-drilled holes didn't align with existing cooling fans. Not a bad replacement unit - installed about 6 months ago and so far so good.

Easy install. Make sure you break off the small tabs next to the male pegs on the fans or the the bolts on the top of the fans will not line up with the Radiator.

I bought this in Sep2011 and it's leaking from the top. It's still covered under warranty? Do I need to bring the defective first or buy a new one and replaced and returned old one with refund the amount what I paid in 2011?

          Thanks

        • Q:

I bought this radiator about 4/5 years ago and it's leaking out of the top. Pressure test from mechanic said need a new one. Since this has a lifetime warentee on it, how about do I get a new one and will the cost of mechanic installing be covered? Pretty unhappy at the moment and it'll cost a lot from mechanic if this isn't covered. Would try myself, but it's winter and seem to be going thru nearly a pint of coolant every other day.

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

Hi Joe, glad to help you! During the warranty period, we will replace or refund, at our option, any new part that fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship under normal use and service after proper installation. Simply return the part along with your original sales receipt to any Advance Auto Parts store. The store manager will be in a better position to approve the warranty after a physical inspection and assist you with the warranty procedure. You must be the original purchaser of the part and still own the vehicle on which it was installed. This warranty is not transferable.

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

Hi Tom, I'm glad to assist you. On this radiator, the drain formerly located on the driver's side has been consolidated with the temperature sensor port on the passenger side of the radiator. This passenger side sensor port can now be utilized as both a drain and installation point for the temperature sensor. Before installing the radiator into the vehicle, the supplied O-Ring needs to be assembled to the long temperature sensor. Please note, if you have a short temperature sensor probe disregard this tech tip and install temperature sensor directly into radiator assembly.

Hello, I just bought a radiator P/N 432541. My car is a 1998 T. Camry with a 2.2 L engine. Its a 5 speed manual transmission. This new radiator has AT cooling lines. Will this new radiator work with my car? Can it be installed with out attaching anything to the cooling connecting line on the radiator?
Also, for the fan sensor, do I remove a bottom plug from the new radiator to install the sensor?

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

I'm glad to assist, Mr. Wayne! The radiator for the automatic and manual transmission for your 1998 Toyota Camry 2.2L is the same. The automatic transmission cooler lines are not utilized and could be covered with vacuum line caps. The product lines will generally consolidate in the aftermarket since there is no need to make the same radiator without the oil cooler option.

Great question on the fan sensor! This tank is too shallow to accept the sensor fitting. Packed with the radiator will be an adapter to properly adjust for the longer style sensor.
