Looked and fit good as the factory one. Haven't driven the car yet but I don't foresee any issues with it.

    Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Summer is almost over and it's time to pack the kids up for moving to college. Oh no - her car is leaking coolant. That old stock radiator is cracked. NO worries, bought this replacement CARQUEST radiator from Advance Auto and had it swapped out in less than 2 hours in the driveway. The new radiator was a direct fit. Only need a minimal number of tools and some fresh anti-freeze. I'll feel a little better about sending her off with the knowledge of a brand new radiator. And the fair price from Advance Auto still leaves me enough money for peanut butter sandwiches while she is in college.

          Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

          Cons, facts:
Less cooling capacity than original BMW radiator.
Some trimming required to make bottom plastic tray fit

          Pros, facts:
Inexpensive, paid less than what it takes to fill up twice after $50.00 internet coupon. Add lifetime warranty on top....hard to beat.
          It's getting the job done

I had to trim the plastic part that goes at the bottom of the rad to make it fit. Other than that all else was OK.
Regarding the drain plug, my rad (auto tranny) came without the blue drain plug as shown in the pics. Instead one must remove the entire hex screw to drain. On the plus side, I was able to add a second "O" ring on the groove that was empty; perfect seal, zero leaks.
I been driving on 90+F without issues. I will update this review as needed.

                Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

There are two different drain plug assemblies on E46 BMWs. One for automatic transmissions and one for manual transmissions. It's the hex shaped part that the small drain plug screws into. The auto one has TWO o-rings, the manual one has ONE o-ring. I ordered an auto radiator but it came with a manual drain plug assembly. Needless to say, it leaked. Check this part before installing.

The radiator I purchased for my 2002 BMW 325I fit well for one exception the bottom hose does not adapt to the current hose I have . It seems the quick connect to the radiator, due to it being longer on the radiator, does not fit. Please advise

                    A:

Happy to help Juan! The lower radiator hose should be rubber and just slip on then a clamp goes over it. If it is too long the hose can be trimmed slightly so it fits better. Also keep in mind the part you linked Part no 432528 is for the automatic transmission, Part No 812635 is for the manual transmission, that may also have an effect on the fit of the hoses.

It worked for my 2004 325i. The cooler goes attached to a separate plastic part. The same part that holds the auto tranny thermostat. FYI..if you are replacing your expansion tank make sure you get the tranny thermostat. I was extremely careful when replacing mine but it came out in pieces. They are made of some plastic composite and after 100K miles they tend to fall apart.
