        Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

BMW OEM has way too much plastic. When the original fails, get one that's all aluminum. While you've got the old one out, change your water pump to one that's got metal impellers, change the thermostat housing to metal, replace both drive belts and then be mindful to bleed the system of air. Very important.

          Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Replaced my stock 1998 BMW 323is radiator with this one. Purchased this product on line and picked up at the store. After about 2 weeks of driving I discovered a crack at the bottom of the plastic expansion tank on the inlet side of the radiator. Major hassel on exchange for a new one. After reading other reviews about this radiator and knowing that I just have exchanged a defective one and just put the exact same radiator in my car, I am very sceptical about the out come. If this one fails me twice...

The manufacturing QA needs to become more involved with this product. It appears that there is a trend of problems with this radiator.

Customer Service and upper Management needs more customer care education. If your going to continue to sell a known problem part, it is not your consumers problem and we should be taken care of above and beyond the nickel and dime experience I have recieved.

                Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

I bought one of these radiators to replace one that had a pinhole leak. At first glance the radiator looked like a great oem replacement and it worked great. However after a few months(and only 5,000 miles), one day when I was idling in the parking lot of advance auto(ran inside to grab a few things), I heard a loud bang and steam billowing from my car. Upon further examination I found out that the plastic on the drivers side completely split from top to bottom. My intake sucked up the coolant and it damaged my filter(luckily it didn't hydro-lock my engine).[...] The replacement functioned fine up until someone totaled my car a few months later(I will note at this point that I bought an identical car and this time replaced it with an all-aluminum one for $240 shipped- the cost of this one from a different vendor). The build quality seems to be "decent" at best. Also, I'll make note that at the time I was using a 74*c thermostat- the stock temp. is supposed to be around 88*c- this means that there was less pressure in the cooling system then normal. I might have just gotten a defective radiator however, whatever the case is overall, I would not want to buy this radiator again as it nearly hydrolocked my engine[...]

I have a 1996 328i Convertible BMW. I bought it brand new. I am about to replace the third radiator in my vehicle. The radiator seems to only last about 4 yrs. The radiator failed in the same place all three times. The upper hose mount. Each time it broke there or this last time blew the hose mount completely off and has a hole about a third of the way down on that side. I think there is a problem in that area. My car is in perfect running condition and serviced regular. I think it is worth a manufacture QA look.
