Appeared to be direct replacement, until we attempted to mount sides to A/C condenser. Radiator had two "wings" (front and rear) on each side for mounting. The rearward facing wing had to be cut off each side to allow proper fit. Wings, themselves were 1/8" shorter than OEM, so they did not allow for proper alignment to mount properly to A/C condenser. We could only mount one side, and had to clamp the other side. It works, but not 100% perfect in fit. All other connections and mounts were spot-on, new oil-line cooler connections and lines were provided, and radiator (after flushing system) works like it should! Another minor complaint... new radiator cap is not included; your old one should fit, but you are recommended to replace the cap when you replace the radiator - be aware new cap is not included, you must buy separately.

Here's my experience with Ready Rad radiators. I have installed them on three vehicles; 1997 Chevy 1500, 1999 Dodge Ram, 2005 Hyundai Elantra. The mounting holes and/or brackets did not line up on all three.I had to drill, grind. or otherwise modify the radiator to make it fit. Also the Chevy leaked transmission fluid-had to JB weld the fitting in the radiator. With the Dodge neither the new or orignal rad. cap would fit. had to sand the neck down to make it fit. With the Hyundai the cap was too loose, and the fitting for the lower hose seems to be too small and leaks slightly no matter how tight the screw clamp is. The Dodge returned two weeks later with a leak around the upper hose connection, had to apply silicone to fix it. All new radiators should include a new radiator cap! This one does not. With the promotional offers this is a good price but that's the only good thing I can say. Just imagine cutting, grinding and drilling to make it fit, filling with expensive coolant, and then the cap will not fit tight. You can't return it after you have chopped it up! Beware!

Fit just fine... didn't need the transmission lines

Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Fit just fine in my 2006 Tiburon GS. The tabs on the sides lined up with my AC condenser, so everything went back together as it should. My car is a manual, so I didn't use the transmission hookups.

    Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Delayed review, so I can attest it holds up after two years. This replaced a cracked radiator . Installation on the 02 Elantra was not easy for a casual wrench spinner like myself. I followed along the Haynes manual and finally got the job done. No issues with overheating since installing this unit. The plastic frame made me nervous but I guess this is the future of parts. My only regreat is not replacing the thermostat when I did the radiator. I was lazy and didn't do it despite buying it. Now I am having thermostat issues. Doh!

    Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

I installed this radiator in an 06 Hyundai Elantra 5-speed. It matches the OEM as far as installation goes just fine except for the the two top bolts that secure the condenser to the radiator. The one I received was the "Tough One" brand. I guess for the price I can't complain but I really would have liked to have been able to install the top two bolts. If I had it to do over I would probably spend more on a different correct fitting brand.

Advance Auto needs to change the description of this part to, "Almost an exact fit for your vehicle"

      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Top Tank leaking after being installed for only 2 months. Cheap price is not a good thing if I have to keep driving 30 miles to pick up a replacement and then the labor to replace the radiator. The mounting holes for the condensor did not align with the holes on the radiator.

Yes. The same radiator fits both models. The AT cooling fittings are left disconnected in the 5sp. They won't leak because AT fyud flows through them not antifreeze.

      • Q:

What cap will fit this radiator. I have the stock cap from the old radiator and the stant lever lock cap both of which do not fit back onto this radiator properly. I already installed this radiator into a 2005 Hyundai Elantra and do not want to take it back out because of a danged cap not fitting. They just do not go down and seal like they should; they twist back off without having to puch down.
