      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

This radiator has several things wrong with it:
      1. The supplied trans coolers fittings are too big and Advance (nor anyone else) sells the correct ones. I had to make my own.
      2. The bracket tabs that hold the AC condenser needed to be modified to work on this application.
      3. The rubber mounting pad supplied are too tall, the old ones need to be reused.
      4. The upper and lower hose nipples are slightly smaller in diameter which causes you to use worn drive hose clamps instead of the factory spring clamps.
I did call Advance about these problems and this is the only radiator they sell for this application. Since this is a warranty replacement of a leaking one I bought 4 years ago, I was stuck having to make this one work.

          Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

I had to replace this radiator for a second time since the first started leaking shortly after being install.
While the first unit fit well, this second unit is a different design. The drain valve has changed, the trans cooler is different and requires adapter fittings. The fittings supplied are 3/8", the van has 5/16" hoses. Using the fittings off of the first unit is not an option.
My store doesn't offer the correct adapters.
          This is unacceptable.

            Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

This Radiator will drip a small amount of coolant from the driver side tank seam whenever I drive it in temperatures below freezing. I have not warrantied it to replace it again since it's not the easiest radiator to get in and out.
I have had it in my van for 3 1/2 years now as for 11/2013.

              Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Drain valve broken in shipment; packaging material too stiff/close. Could not replace drain valve as it is non-standard. Nothing available in stock to replace it. Radiator advertised as 'OEM' then, why did the mfg not use the Chrysler drain valve available from the shelf? Drain valve is sealed - had to install. Asked Advance AP counter help to obtain me a replacement from the manufacturer. Has been 6 days now. Still no response.

How can they sell a radiator that is so I'll fitting?
This latest version of radiator has the wrong size trans cooler fittings, the rubber mounts are too tall and the bracket tabs that hold the bottom of the condenser in place are not spaced correctly.
Since I am warranting one I bought a few years ago that leaks (but fit great) I am stuck with having to modifying it to fit. I am very disappointed with this low quality part.

How is it posible to have (BOTH) inlet and outlet on the same side?

                  A:

With reference to your inquiry on the Ready-Rad Radiator - Part No. 432368 a radiator with inlet and outlet on the same side and cooling passages that run side to side is called a double pass radiator. The end tank with the inlet and outlet on it has an internal wall separating the top and bottom. The only way the water can flow, is to pass across the core to the opposite tank, then pass back across to the other outlet (double pass). For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

                • A:

It has a baffle halfway down the tank that causes the coolant to flow in a "U" pattern thru the tubes.
