Bought online with coupon and picked up in store. When I went to install it I noticed one of the transmission line holes had what appeared to be a white colored oxidation and some little red specks the other hole was fine. Obviously I was concerned about contaminating my transmission with a brand new radiator. The store I bought it from showed no more in stock so I found the next nearest store that did and went there. Everything was good and he said yes it was bad probably due to not getting all the test fluid drained out of it at the factory. The trouble started when he could not give me the same price as I paid online due to the coupon code as apparently the online store and retail store are 2 different businesses. So buyer beware. Got home got the thing almost completely installed and went to hook up overflow tube only to find out new tube is significantly smaller than original on my "Exact match" radiator. I called the online 800 number and they said I could return it but I don't know what radiator they would give me as this is the one they call for.
Any how as of now I just rigged up an adapter for the overflow issue. I also complained about the price issue and they said they would send me a $10 gift card which just about makes up the difference. I told them about this not matching my vehicle which is a 2003 Chevy Impala with 3.8L but I see 3 days later it is still listed as an "Exact match". Any how hopfully you my find this review helpful if you do mark it as so. Thanks.

    Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Good fit. Comes with quick connectors for the trans cooler.
Overflow nipple is the wrong size. Original is 3/8", replacement is 1/4". I put a piece of 1/4" thin wall vinyl tubing on it, then clamped the 3/8" over it. No leaks.

    Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Had obviously been installed before. Still had old rusted bolts in it. Had to drive 30 miles round trip to return it. WHY would someone box something up like that and resell it. NO more advance Auto for me.

      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Overflow reservoir tube was wrong size for 2003 impala LS. Had to get an adaptor and some hose to mate up with existing overflow tube.

Lower transmission cooler QD leaked transfluid (fit was loose to existing line). QD fitting in new radiator had different mating seal to transcooler relative to old OEM radiator so had to go by a "GM transcooler QD replacement fitting for $5.99". Replaced in to the new radiator and fit was much better and didn't leak.

While the issues were minor they were very annoying to find out after doing a bulk of the work to get the old radiator out and the new rad in...

      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

It is a great direct fit, it took me about 2 hours from getting started to getting cleaned up. Make sure to take the clips off of your old radiator and transfer them to the new one. Also be sure to take the clips on the transmission cooler off of the new one so you're not bothered when you put it in.**dont unscrew the connectors on the transmission cooler, they are quick connect parts**

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

I'm happy to help, Donner94! One way to find out which radiator you have is to measure the core with a tape measure or a ruler. Also, the radiator with the 1" core utilizes an EOC/TOC Quick Connector system, there is an installation notice located here: http://showmetheparts.com/BIN/documents/VistaPro/3_Attn_56.pdf
