This is a heavy duty radiator. Much thicker than the one I was replaceing.

Bolt fit in the mounting location and hose fitup were just fine.

Could not mount the belt driven fan shroud as the mounting locations for the shroud did not match the radiator at the top. This was a moot point for me since I also installed an electric fan. A simple right angle bracket could be made to solve the problem if the belt driven fan shroud was being used.

I like having a nut on the drain instead of the more common wing.

I bought this for an 8th generation (1987, in my case) F150 with 5.0L V8. Can't comment on fitment of transmission lines because I installed it in a truck with a manual transmission. The radiator-to-frame tabs aligned properly, but there were no corresponding holes to attach the fan shroud, so you need to attack your new radiator with a drill. The tank sides (with input/output ports) are made of plastic, and the rest of the radiator is made of some sort of soft alloy. Mine, picked up at the store, was damaged in the box (box undamaged, gouge in one tine) but not enough to form a leak. I was going to bring it back to the store to swap it out but online customer service stated that the "limited lifetime" warranty would apply to the physical damage should it ever leak. Time will tell if Advance will stand behind this product as promised. The price was O.K., but I'd recommend getting a better one, even if it costs a little extra.

                Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Good product but when I went to install it one of the brass fittings weren't threaded properly and was oval shaped. Went back to get another one and the staff at advance was very helpful. When I received the new brass fitting, same problems with thread, not milled right on one piece. I ended up having to get the old brass pieces taken off the old radiator and put on new radiator...then it fit together like a glove. Good radiator, but bad Chinese milled brass fittings.

Saw a lot of mixed reviews about this rad. I have a 1996 ford bronco with 5.8. I needed one ASAP so went ahead and got it anyway. Not sure where people were having issues on the fan shroud not bolting up right. Mine went in with out a issue. I had no modifications to do.
I didn't use the trans cooler.

                    A:

Hi Sean, good question! The more cores in a radiator means the more cooling surface. A 3 core and 4 core radiator will keep your engine coolant cooler than a single or 2 core radiator. Depending on your usage, it might be worth the extra money to buy a 3 or 4 core unit. This radiator is an exact fit for your 1990 Ford F-350 Pickup. The core size of this radiator are 27 5/8"X18 3/8"X2" (HXWXD).
