The radiator was a direct replacement for the OEM. It was a perfect replacement. It was packaged well which prevented damage during deleivery. It was not a stock item so it had to be ordered. It arrived at the local store the next day as they said it would. I went by, after work, that evening to pick it up. I opened the box in the store to verify it was the correct part and that there was no damage to it. It was pristine. I took it home and installed it that evening. It wasn't easy but the it fit perfect.

The ToughOne radiator was correct in every way EXCEPT the core was ONLY 3/4 inch thick vs the proper OEM AND Advance's own listed spec for 1" to 1-1/16".

Their CS Dept was at a compldete loss as to why. I helped as much as I could to determine all related info associated with the order and the item.

They were to get back to me about their findings but never have.

Since it was spot on as to fit and configuration I almost missed it and would have installed it never knowing why my cooling efficiency had dropped off. Quite likely it would have sufficed for normal driving, but a trip to Death Valley would not be advised.

Since they had no proper replacement I sourced eslewhere at 1/2 the price and got one with much better all around quality in materials and a real 1-1/16" core.

Radiator Not To Spec (3/4" wide core compared to 1")

      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

I read the review about the core only being 3/4" thick where the specs read 1" core. The one I pulled from my PT had a 1" core. The review was from 2014 so I figured it was corrected. Unfortunately, I had to have my wife run to Napa and pick up one from them that actually had a 1" core.

These PT Cruisers suck when the parts are right. I couldn't imagine losing 25% of the cooling capacity.

Get out your dial calipers and bring them to the store to save the 80 minutes we wasted.

              Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Replaced leaking radiator in a 2004 PT Cruiser Touring model with manual transmission. It was actually pretty easy to replace because there were no transmission cooler lines to remove and connect. Found all the info I needed via google. Do it yourself and save hundreds of dollars if you have time and patience. Tips: remove the grill and cross bar support. use a claw to remove the plastic rivets and rubber skirt from the bottom of the radiator. Drain fluids and remove hoses. Remove the bolts holding the fan assembly and the AC coil. Pull old radiator straight up from between the fan and ac coil. Reverse the process. Fill new radiator, bleed air from below thermostat. Fill overflow. Get the right coolant. Don't use green stuff.

The radiator looks like it matches perfectly, looks like. The one I purchased has 2 cooling lines at the bottom that are inline with the petcock across. Mine for some reason are on the drivers side, one on top of thee other. The engine is a 2.4 liter W/AC and 4 speed automatic. I'M puzzled

Make sure you have a Radiator for an AUTO PT. Most that say they fit don't. To the best of my knowledge you need a Radiator without EOC (Engine oil cooler) and with TOC (transmission oil cooler)hope that helps.

There are two brass type fittings at the bottom of the radiator. On my old radiator, these do not exist. I do not know what they are for, and one of the caps is split. Are they of importance? Vehicle is 2007 Chrysler Pt Cruiser...engine is the one that has the X in the VIN.
